What Is It Like Using an Underwater Thruster for the First Time? Why I Changed My Mind

To be honest, when I first saw someone installing an underwater thruster on a kayak, I didn’t really understand it.

My first thoughts were:

“Why do you need one?”

“Isn’t a kayak supposed to be powered by paddling?”

“Isn’t the whole point of being on the water to exercise? Why add a motor?”

I believe many kayak enthusiasts have had similar thoughts.

For many people, paddling itself is part of the experience. Feeling the water, controlling the direction, and moving forward using your own strength are what make kayaking enjoyable.

So at first, I thought an underwater thruster was more of an optional accessory rather than something truly necessary.

Until I actually tried one.

My First Experience Was Different From What I Expected

When I first turned on the thruster, it was not as dramatic as I imagined.

Does It Replace Paddling?

I don’t think so.

At least, it doesn’t replace it for me.

But my opinion has changed.

then installing an underwater thruster may completely change your experience.

When I first heard about underwater thrusters, I thought they were unnecessary.

But after actually using one, I realized it is not a “lazy tool.”
